My Story

Hi I’m Louise, founder of Bodhi Nutrition and Wellness.

I began my own wellness journey as a result of many years of suffering from chronic migraines, chronic fatigue, digestive issues and anxiety.  This led to me seeking answers through my own diet and lifestyle choices.  Through healing and improving my own health, I embraced nutritional therapy as part of my lifestyle and went on to study for my qualification at the College of Naturopathic Medicine.  I feel very passionate about helping people with their individual health needs and achieve their goals.

I have pursued a keen interest in gut health and children’s health since discovering my son's Asperger's Syndrome. He also suffers from chronic asthma and allergies. Working with his gut and removing certain foods from his diet, along with a gut-healing programme, saw massive improvements in his health and wellbeing. He now uses very limited medication for his asthma.

As a children's yoga and mindfulness teacher, I feel strongly about teaching children how to manage stress, talk about the importance of healthy eating and build self-esteem in today's modern world.

About the consultation…

I use a full health questionnaire, which includes your medical history and current lifestyle. We can also use any functional medicine testing where necessary. My approach can include wider practises such as yoga and alternative therapies

I want you to feel better, I want your health to improve and I know that a focus on nutrition can help, so I make sure that we go at a pace that feels comfortable and easy for you. I won’t blind you with science (unless you’re interested!) and I’ve been told that I have a real gift for creating plans that are unique to you. This means they are realistic, achievable and planned around your lifestyle. We do this together!

Who I Work With…

Nutritional Therapy isn’t just for athletes or celebrities on special diets – it’s for everyone. So that’s who I treat.

My specialism is on gut health because it is so central to the whole nutritional cycle of the way the body gets and uses food. Digestive issues can present in symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, food allergies and ‘brain fog’.

The gut-brain connection is so important to our overall well-being. It’s no surprise that our mental state can trigger issues in our gut and I can reduce many of the  symptoms of stress and anxiety by concentrating on the gut. 70% of our immune cells are also in our gut, which means that by improving our gut health, we can directly boost our immune system.

I also find that this type of therapy can be highly effective if you’re a stressed out, working parent or a woman going through peri or post menopause. This is because our hormones and moods can be so greatly affected by what we eat.

I’ve worked with a wide range of health issues suffered by people of many different ages and lifestyles. I also enjoy helping parents with their children’s nutrition.

Testimonials

“I had a consultation with Louise due to issues with chronic tendonitis and muscle fatigue. Louise was very thorough and from her assessment recommended some foods to include in my diet along with supplements to help. After a few weeks I already started to feel the benefits and after a month I was able to practice yoga pain-free - for the first time in 6 months. I would highly recommend Louise .”
